Share as Hosted Feature Layer user interface

You can access the interface for sharing document feature layers from the document feature layer heading's context menu on the Esri Contents pane, from the context menu of an individual document feature layers under that heading, or from the Share to ArcGIS button on the main ribbon.

If no document feature layers are present in the drawing, choosing the Share to ArcGIS button from the ArcGIS ribbon will first run the CAD to Feature layer tool and then share those resultant document feature layers as a quick way to share all the content of a CAD drawing quickly as GIS layers.

You will then be guided through a series of interfaces to complete the sharing task. All hosted feature layers created by ArcGIS for AutoCAD will be 3D layers and will enable feature layer attachments.

Sign in to a portal

When sharing document feature layers as hosted layers, you will be guided through a series of interfaces to create new hosted feature layers. You can access the sharing of document feature layers from the document feature layer heading context menu on the Esri Contents tab or the context menu of an individual document feature layer under that heading or from the share button on the main ribbon. You must sign in to a valid ArcGIS portal with user credentials with data creation privileges. A red warning icon will be displayed when signed in to a portal without sufficient privileges. A green checkmark will be displayed when you are signed in to an ArcGIS portal with sufficient privileges and credits.

Select additional layers

If one or more document feature layers exist in the drawing, you will be prompted to confirm or select additional document feature layers to share. The check box to the left of the layer list designates that the layer will be shared.

You have the opportunity to rename any of the document feature layers at this point. You can also rename document feature layers that you are not sharing. To rename a feature layer, select the feature layer name and you can edit the name in place.
