Search for ArcGIS layers

You can search for supported ArcGIS layers using the Add Data user interface. ArcGIS for AutoCAD automatically filters out unsupported portal items, such as web maps and apps. To search for a supported layer, you can use a search term and filters included on the Add Data user interface in combination.

Search for a layer

Use the search text box at the top of the Add Data user interface. Content collections in the active portal will be searched.

  1. Type a search term in the search text box, for example, USA Traffic, and press Enter.

Selectable search results appear in the gallery area of the Add Data user interface.

  2. Click one of the tiles in the gallery to add the layer to your drawing.

Search with filters

In addition to finding a layer through search, you can filter the results.

  1. Click the Filter button next to the search text box.

    The filter options are listed.

  2. Select the item types to include, such as map, imagery, and feature layers. You must select at least one item type before you can search.
  3. Select how the search results will be organized, for example, by Name or Most Viewed, and click Apply.

Search results are returned based on your filters.

Add Data search box and filters

From the Add Data user interface, you can use the highlighted items of the user interface to search for layers by geography, name, or keywords, and filter the search results by layer type.
