You edit feature layers using a combination of ArcGIS for AutoCAD attribute editing user interfaces to edit feature attributes and the standard editing tool of AutoCAD to edit the entities that represent features in the feature layer. All entities drawn by ArcGIS for AutoCAD from web feature layers and document feature layers are CAD entities.
- On the AutoCAD ribbon, click the Home tab.
- Use the various tools to edit your feature layer.
- To create features, use AutoCAD to create entities that qualify as members of the feature layer according to their layer's query definition, such as a specific AutoCAD layer.
- To delete features, delete the entity.
- If needed, use the Attribute Editor user interface to modify feature attributes.
- If working with a web feature layer, save changes to the feature service of the feature layer by synchronizing the changes.
Note:
When adding a polygon feature using a polyline the geometry of the shape must be closed . To ensure closed polygons for polylines set the AutoCAD system variable PLINTYPE value to 1 or 2 to auto close the shape. Multiple polylines or polygons that represent a single GIS feature, like a collection of islands that are a single country, can be created using the AutoCAD GROUP capability. Multipart features from ArcGIS are represented and edited in ArcGIS for AutoCAD as GROUPED entities.Note:
Branch versions may be displayed as locked in the Esri Contents user interface if the published service is set to read-only, or if the branch version was unable to be edited at the time it was added. If not designated specifically as a read-only layer the branch version layer can be toggled to the unlocked editing state in the context menu of the Esri Contents user interface, but will require a user with the appropriate credentials to be signed-in, in order to synchronize changes.
