You can manage access to ArcGIS portals through the Add Data window. Manage Portals user interface is accessed by selecting the user avatar and sign-in symbol and drop-down menu at the upper right of the Add Data user interface.
Add a portal
To add a portal, complete the following steps:
- From the ArcGIS ribbon, select the Add Data button
.The Add Data user interface is displayed.
- From the user avatar and sign-in symbol, select the drop-down menu, and choose Manage portals.
The Manage Portals user interface is displayed.
- In the Add a new portal edit box, provide the portal URL (for example, https://arcgisonline.com or https://<your domain>/portal) and click Connect.
The portal is added to the list of available portals and automatically becomes the active portal. You can now sign in to the portal using the Sign In button. Some authentication schemes sign in to the portal automatically.
Sign in to a portal
Additional functionality and content is only available when you are signed in to a portal. This functionality and content includes making your items favorites and accessing the My Favorites, My Content, My Organization, and My Group collections. When not signed in to a portal, you can still access content on that portal shared with everyone, such as ArcGIS Online content shared with everyone.
- From the ArcGIS ribbon, select the Add Data button .
The Add Data user interface is displayed.
- From the user avatar and sign-in button, select the drop-down list, and select the portal to sign in to.
Alternately, you can sign in to portals listed in the Manage Portals user interface when you select the Manage Portals option of the drop-down menu.
- Click the Sign In button.
Note:
Some authentication schemes sign in to the portal automatically.
Sign out of a portal
To sign out of a portal, complete the following steps:
- From the ArcGIS ribbon, select the Add Data button .
The Add Data user interface is displayed.
- Select the Manage Portal user interface accessed through the user avatar and sign-in button of the Add Data user interface.
- Click the Sign Out button on the listed portal.
Note:
Signing out is not possible with some authentication schemes.
Remove a portal
To remove a portal, complete the following steps:
- From the ArcGIS ribbon, select the Add Data button .
The Add Data user interface is displayed.
- From the user avatar and sign-in symbol, select the drop-down menu, and choose Manage portals.
The Manage Portals user interface is displayed.
- Click the Delete button on the listed portal tile you want to remove.
