Attachments user interface

The Attachments pane gives you access to files and other data associated with ArcGIS web features. You can access this pane from the View Attachments option of a web feature layer context menu in the Esri Contents pane. Attachments provide a flexible way to manage information that is related to features. Attachments allow users with sufficient privileges to add, delete, and view files attached to individual features. These files can be images, PDF documents, text documents, or most any other type of file.

Sharing document feature layers as hosted layers can create web feature layers that support attachments. This allows you to have field crews collect photos in the field using their data collection devices. Or, you can add files to features within ArcGIS for AutoCAD for these mobile or other desktop GIS users. For example, if you have a feature representing a building, you can use attachments to add multiple photographs of the building taken from several angles, along with .pdf files containing the building's deed and tax information.
