Create a new Document Feature Layer user interface

The Create a New Document Feature Layer user interface is used to define a new document feature layer. The Create a New Document Feature Layer user interface is displayed after selecting the Create New Document Feature Layer button from the ArcGIS ribbon user interface, or the Create New Document Feature Layer button on the Create tab of the Add Data users interface.

	Select the geometric type.
	Provide a name.
	Property selector.
	Value selector.
	Add new condition to define which entities will be included in the feature layer.
	Preview which features in the drawing will match the definition query.
	The field properties data grid allows you to use the edit boxes to modify field properties and default values. Use the Add new field button to add a new field. Highlight a row and press the delete key to delete a field.
	Adds a new field to the feature layer. To define the field properties, use the Fields data grid. Note: See the Attribute fields topic for more information regarding supported and restricted field types.
