ArcGIS for AutoCAD provides various user interfaces to create, manage, and manipulate the GIS content and services added by the plug-in. ArcGIS for AutoCAD adds GIS data as native CAD elements that can be edited and manipulated by the standard tools of the host application, and also ArcGIS for AutoCAD specific panels, dialog boxes, the primary ArcGIS ribbon user interface, and tool palettes. This managed GIS content includes Esri-defined coordinate system definitions, location services, GIS feature data, and interactive smart maps as background imagery.
This section provides descriptions of the various user interfaces that control the GIS content supported by the ArcGIS for AutoCAD plug-in. Other topics describe how to perform typical workflows using the GIS content and services.
