Introduction to Communications Utility Network Foundation

Communications Utility Network Foundation can be used to accelerate coax, copper, fiber, and wireless communication utility network implementations.

It includes a data model that configures ArcGIS Enterprise and the ArcGIS Utility Network to represent communication networks. It deploys foundational services, simplifying the creation of additional web and mobile apps and provides a desktop data editing environment.

Starting with Communications Utility Network Foundation means organizations don't have to spend their time and implementation budget on building custom data models and information products.

Requirements

Communications Utility Network Foundation requires the following:

• ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 or 11.1
• ArcGIS Pro 2.9 or 3.1 (Standard or Advanced)

When you deploy this solution in your ArcGIS organization, you also get an ArcGIS solution item that organizes the key information products and summarizes all the ArcGIS items (applications, forms, projects, maps, feature layers, feature layer views, and so on) included with the solution. 1.2 (Nov 2021)	Name changed from Communications Data Management for ArcGIS Enterprise to Communications Utility Network Foundation.
1.1 (Jun 2021)	New diagram templates, sample data, edit templates, tasks and attribute rules have been added to improve usability and take advantage of new capabilities. In-depth modeling of ports, patch panels, splitters, splices, multiplexers and other equipment. Added a new Communication Circuit Tier for tracing communication circuits and a Cable tier has been added to replace the removed Copper, Coax and Fiber tiers. Removed the Medium Converter equipment, the network type transition will be reflected by the connector types contained within the device.
