Configure consent notice and product footer

A consent notice allows visitors to accept or reject tracking applied to your site. This includes Hub Activity Tracking and Google Analytics tracking. If both of these tracking options are enabled, the visitor must accept or reject all tracking (app-supplied or user-supplied).

By default, the consent notice will not appear to visitors upon arrival unless you enable the notice. Visitors to a site, page, or view always have access to the consent notice so that they can update their privacy preferences by using the Manage Privacy link in the product footer.

Enable or disable a consent notice

To enable or disable a consent notice, follow these steps:

  1. Open a site in edit mode.
  2. Click Settings on the side panel.
  3. In the Tracking and Consent section, click to disable or enable the Consent Notice toggle.
    • If Hub Activity Tracking is enabled, the consent notice displays disclaimer text unique to Esri and the Esri Privacy Statement.
    • If a custom provider (Google Analytics) is enabled only, you can provide your own custom disclaimer text and privacy policy link.
    • If both tracking options are enabled, the Esri disclaimer text is included with any optional custom disclaimer you provide.
    • If no tracking is enabled, default disclaimer text informs visitors that they are not being tracked.
  4. Click Save.

Change consent notice theme

To change the colors of the consent notice, follow these steps:

Note:

The default style for consent notices is Black & White.

  1. Open a site in edit mode.
  2. Click Settings on the side panel and choose Tracking and Consent.
  3. Under Notice Style, select from Site Theme or Black & White.

    Note:
The Site Theme adopts the text and background color set in Theme settings. Updating these colors impacts text and background color set for the entirety of the site and its pages and views.

  4. Click Save.

ArcGIS Hub product footer branding

The ArcGIS Hub product footer includes a "Built with ArcGIS Hub" label and a Manage Privacy link. The footer cannot be removed so that visitors to your sites, pages, and views always have access to your site's consent notice. You cannot remove the Manage Privacy link, but you can remove the ArcGIS Hub branding.

  1. Open a site in edit mode.
  2. Click Settings on the side panel and choose Interactions.
  3. Under Product Branding, use the toggle to enable or disable the option to display "Built with ArcGIS Hub" at the bottom of all pages of your site.
  4. Click Save.
