Publish a site or page

When a site's owner or core team members make changes to the site, they can save the site as a draft for others to preview before publishing the changes.

Create a draft

Create a draft of a site or page to share a preview of its changes with others. The preview shows sites and pages at three different screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile), that are representative of common mobile devices. A draft does not impact the current version of the site or page until it has been published.

  1. Open a site or page in edit mode.
  2. Select the Save drop-down menu.
  3. Select Preview Draft.

    Tip:
To copy a link to the draft, select Share URL in the upper left corner of the page. Edit or view access is not required to see the draft.

Publish changes

Use the Publish Draft option when you are ready to launch a new site or page or when you want to replace an existing version with the changes made during the most recent editing session.

Caution:

When you publish a draft, any changes made during the editing session permanently override the existing version of the site or page. You cannot revert to the previous version of the site or page.

  1. Open a site or page in edit mode.
  2. Select the Save drop-down menu.
  3. Select Publish Draft.

View the current version of a site or page

To compare a draft version of a site or page to its current version, use the View Published option and open the site or page in another browser window.

Delete changes

To delete all changes made during an editing session, choose Delete Draft. The site editor displays the most recent version of your site page prior to editing. Choosing this option does not affect the current view of the site or page.
