ArcGIS Hub is a way for organizations to share websites, maps, events, and other content around important activities and issues in your community. By signing up for a free community account, you can save your favorite content, websites, and events and access them at anytime on a computer or mobile device. You can also create maps and stories using open data and share your content with others.
Create a community account
To explore what's happening in your community and create a community account, complete the following steps
Note:
You do not need an account to search for and download open data shared through a site. Open data is always free to the public.
- Explore ArcGIS Hub to discover what's happening in your community.
- Open a site in a supported browser when you've found one of interest.
- Select Sign in in the upper corner of the site.
Note:
A sign-in prompt also opens when you select a call-to-action button, such as Follow or Learn more. The sign-in prompt also appears when selecting Register on any event that you find related to a site. If these sign-in options aren't available to you, the organization may not support community accounts. - Select No Account? Create a community account.
- Provide either an email address or existing login credentials to Facebook, Google, AppleID, or GitHub.
Note:
Depending on the organization sponsoring the site, you may only be able to set up a community account with a set of supported social sign-in credentials.
Sign in with a community account
Community members can sign in on a public site or page or a private site or page that has been shared with them through a group. They can also sign in at hub.arcgis.com or on the community organization’s ArcGIS Online homepage.
Sign in options are available on a site in the following locations:
- The global navigation bar if it has been enabled for the site and its pages.
- A configured Sign up button.
- A configured Follow site button.
- The Register button on an event’s view.
People cannot use their community account credentials to sign in to the ArcGIS Online homepage used by your organization’s staff, nor can they access staff profiles, or any content created by staff. To view private content, staff must share the items with community members through a group.
