Adjust layer options in scenes

In Layer Manager Layers, you can adjust layer options such as repositioning or grouping layers. The available options are based on the layer type.

To adjust layer options, complete the following steps:

  1. Verify that you are signed in to your account and open Scene Viewer.
  2. On the Designer toolbar, click Layer Manager Layers to open the Layer Manager pane.
  3. Adjust the layer options.
  4. Click Save Save to save the changes to the layers.

Reposition layer

When you hover over Reposition Reposition layer on the layer, you can click and drag the layer to reorder or add it to a group.

When you click Reposition Reposition layer, a drop-down menu appears with the following options:

Move the layer to the top.

This lists the current group layers in Layer Manager to which you can add the layer.

Change layer options

In OptionsLayer options tool on the layer, you can adjust the following layer options:

Apply smart mapping styles to a layer.

Change the layer properties, such as Transparency, Pop-up, and Legend.

Save layer Save

When you are the scene layer owner, save the layer style and properties.

Zoom to Zoom to layer

Show the layer to its full extent in the scene.

Show in Layers Show and Hide in Layers Hide

Show or hide the layer in the Layers/Legend tool.

Note:

When you choose Hide in Layers, the layer is hidden in the Layers/Legend tool and is unavailable in Layers.

Rename Rename

Highlight the layer and provide a new name.

DuplicateDuplicate

Duplicate the layer for feature layers; point, point cloud, integrated mesh, and 3D object scene layers.

Remove Remove

Remove the layer.

Add to new group Group layer

Add the layer to a new group.

Add a layer to a new group

Use groups in a scene to organize layers that are similar in content or location. Once the layers are grouped, you can change the way they appear in the Layers/Legend tool.

To add a layer to a new group, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Options Layer options tool on a layer and click Add to new group.

    A new group is created and the layer is added to it.

  2. Name the new group.
  3. Drag layers into the new group.

    You can drag layers to remove them from the group or to reorder the layers. You can also add layers to a group when you click Reposition Reposition layer on any layer and select the group layer under the Move to section.

  4. Click Options Group settings tool next to a group layers to display the group options described below.

Modify the behavior of the group in Layers/Legend:

  • Checkbox Check box—Turn individual layers on and off.
  • Radio Radio—Convert the group into radio buttons and specify that only one can be turned on at a time in case there are overlapping layers.
  • Merge Merge—Combine all groups into one.
  • Hide Hide—Hide the group and its layers in Layers/Legend. To show them, click one of the other options.

Zoom to Zoom to layer

Zoom to the combined extent of all the layers in the group.

Rename Rename

Highlight the layer or group layer and provide a new name.

Remove Remove

Delete the group and the sublayers.

Ungroup Ungroup

Ungroup the layers.
