Introduction to Adopt-A-Road

Adopt-A-Road can be used to operate road adoption programs that allow volunteers to adopt roads and clean them for the community.

Many communities have implemented road adoption programs to enhance their roadside and stormwater maintenance work. These programs seek to remove unsightly litter from roadsides before it reaches local streams or clogs storm drains. Adopt-A-Road or Adopt-a-Highway programs leverage volunteers to regularly inspect designated roads, remove litter or debris, and report roadside problems they observe. These simple actions help communities maximize their maintenance resources, keep roadsides free of litter, and promote community pride.

The Adopt-A-Road solution delivers a set of capabilities that help local governments enlist community volunteers to clear debris from roads, manage program participants, and monitor the performance of the adoption program.
