Organize your data
Review the layers provided with the solution and determine what source data you want to load. Then, load your existing data into the layers provided with the solution before sharing the maps or applications.

Load data from a shapefile or file geodatabase
The feature layers included in the Agricultural Parcel Analysis solution include field descriptions and value type information to help you understand the data. After reviewing the data requirements in the organize your data section, load your organization's data into the Agricultural Parcel Analysis solution.
To load data from a shapefile or file geodatabase, complete the following steps:
- Create a .zip file of your shapefile or file geodatabase.
- Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the feature layer that you want to populate.
- From the item page, click Update Data.
- Follow the steps in the Update data wizard to load your data.
Tip:
This solution requires the lowparcelid field in the TaxParcel layer to be populated to function correctly. Additionally, the statedarea field in the TaxParcel layer is used to use the optional notebook acres tolerance tool.

You can use the Data Assistant add-in, which is part of the Community Data Aggregation solution, to load your data into the TaxParcel feature layer. The Data Assistant add-in allows you to update and load data manually or on a schedule.Configure agricultural analysis map
The Agricultural Parcel Analysis solution includes a series of data visualizations that are based on the values in your data. Each appraisal organization is unique and it is recommended that you configure the maps to align with your data.
The Agricultural Parcel Analysis map contains the AgriculturalLandUse feature template that is used in the Editor widget. If your organization will modify the feature template for your data, you can add and remove values from the feature template pallet by managing the feature template. For more information about managing feature template, see Manage feature templates.
Share items with your entire organization or a secure group
Several feature layer, maps, and apps included in the Agricultural Parcel Analysis solution must be shared with a secure group or your entire organization so your internal users can access the application securely.
To share your Agricultural Parcel Analysis items in a secure group or with your entire organization, complete the following steps:
- Verify that you are signed in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Agricultural Parcel Analysis folder.
- Next to each of the following items, check the check box:

- In the Share window, click Organization and click Save.
- Click Update sharing.
The Update sharing message appears notifying you that you need to update the share permissions of the feature layers in the Agricultural Parcel Analysis app.
Share items with public
The Agricultural Review Request app can be used by the public to submit agricultural exemption requests. For the public to access the form, it must be shared with everyone. The app can be incorporated into your organization's website.
To share your Agricultural Review Request items to everyone, complete the following steps:
- Verify that you are signed in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Agricultural Parcel Analysis folder.
- Next to each of the following items, check the check box:
