Share your site content

Everything you create with ArcGIS Hub (sites, events, surveys, and so on) is stored and managed in the subscription of ArcGIS Online that you use to access Hub. Your Hub content is stored as ArcGIS Online items and managed in groups, so can be shared using the ArcGIS Online sharing framework:

  • Owner—Only you as owner and groups with which it is shared can access your item. If you are a member of a group, you can share your item with that group, such as a core team.
    Tip:

By default, each new site or initiative is automatically shared with its default core team. This means that the person who originally created the site or initiative is the only one who can view the site until core team members are added to the group or until the site is shared with a larger audience.

  • Organization—Only members of your organization can access your item.
  • Public—Everyone can view your item (anonymous access).

When creating and managing content in ArcGIS Hub, you can access sharing controls for several items, including sites, pages, and web maps by following these steps:

  1. Open a site in edit mode.
  2. Select the Access and view button Access and view on the side panel.

    Note:
By default, a new site or an initiative site lists the content group as site/initiative-name under Who can view and site/initiative-name Core Team under Who can edit.

  3. Optionally, select Add others to add other groups, such as supporting teams or event attendees.
  4. Optionally, select the visibility drop-down menu next to Save at the upper right of the edit navigation bar and choose Organization or Public to share your site with your organization or the public, respectively.

    Note:
Only those with whom the item is shared (your organization or group members), can view the item when they're signed in to ArcGIS Hub.

For more information about sharing, see Adjust sharing controls and Publish a site or page.
