Standard demographics
This release includes updates to standard demographics for 62 countries with data from Michael Bauer Research GmbH.
Asia
The following 39 countries in Asia are updated with new standard demographics (vintage updated from 2020 to 2022): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Georgia (without Abkhazia), Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
North America
The following five countries in North America are updated with new standard demographics (vintage updated from 2020 to 2021): Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua.
Oceania
The following six countries in Oceania are updated with new standard demographics (vintage updated from 2020 to 2021): Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea.
South America
The following 12 countries in South America are updated with new standard demographics (vintage updated from 2020 to 2021): Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.
Advanced demographics
This release includes updates to advanced demographics for Canada and the United States.
Canada
Canada Advanced demographics are updated to 2022 data vintage from Environics Analytics including the following:
- Demographic estimates (2022 and 2017) with current-year estimates and historical estimates from 5 years ago based on the same methodologies to ensure accurate trend analysis.
- Demographic projections (2025, 2027, 2032) including demographic projections for three, five, and ten years into the future based on the same methodologies to ensure accurate trend analysis.
- Trends (2006-2042) including estimated and projected households counts, household population, household income, and household average income.
- Daytime Population estimate of the population that is reachable in any geographic area during daytime hours.
- CensusPlus data from the 2021 Census conducted by Statistics Canada.
- Household Spending includes current year estimates on annual expenditures on goods and services used by Canadian households.
- PRIZM segmentation classifies Canada's neighborhoods into 67 unique lifestyle types.
United States
The Traffic Counts data from Kalibrate tracks peak and low traffic volume by the number of vehicles that cross a certain street location. The Traffic Counts data is updated with the Q3 2022 release from Kalibrate.
ArcGIS Places
This release includes the following updates and new releases for ArcGIS Places:
- United States: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from Data Axle business locations (Q3 2022) and SafeGraph Places (July 2022).
- Puerto Rico: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from SafeGraph Places (July 2022).
- Canada: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from Data Axle business locations (Q3 2022) and SafeGraph Places (July 2022).
- Global: Updated global ArcGIS Places based on data sourced from Foursquare (September 2022).

June 2022

Standard demographics
The June release includes standard demographics updates for 22 countries in Africa, updates to standard demographics in 25 countries and regions in Eastern Europe, and updates to Greenland.
Africa
This release includes new standard demographics for 22 countries in Africa (vintage 2021): Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mayotte, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Zimbabwe.
Eastern Europe
This release includes updates to standard demographics for 25 countries in Europe (vintage 2021): Andorra, Cyprus (Greek part), Faroe Islands, Iceland, Malta, Monaco, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova (without Transnistria), Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
North America
This release includes updates to standard demographics for Greenland vintage 2021.
Advanced demographics
This release includes the annual update in the United States.
United States
The 2022 release of Esri Demographics in the United States marks the first using 2020 Census geography. The following datasets are updated to vintage 2022 based on 2020 Census geography:
- Esri Updated Demographics: Current-year and five-year estimates and projections of key demographic and socioeconomic factors.
- American Community Survey (ACS) 2016–2020: The latest ACS data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the first in 2020 Census geography.
- Census 2020: Redistricting data from the 2020 U.S. Census.
- Census 2010 and 2000: Over 1,000 attributes from previous censuses recalibrated into 2020 Census geography.
- Esri Tapestry Segmentation: Lifestyle market segmentation data including one Tapestry segment name change.
- Esri Consumer Spending: Current-year and five-year estimates of consumer household spending.
- Esri Market Potential: Consumer demand for products and services and over 800 new attributes on consumer attitudes.
- Esri Business Summary: Businesses, employee count, and estimated sales volume summarized by SIC and NAICS codes.

ArcGIS Places
This release includes the following updates and new releases for ArcGIS Places:
- United States: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from Data Axle business locations and SafeGraph places.
- Puerto Rico: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from SafeGraph places.
- Canada: Quarterly update to ArcGIS Places sourced from Data Axle business locations and SafeGraph places.
- Global: New global ArcGIS Places sourced from data provided by Foursquare.
In this release, SafeGraph has updated the NAICS classification and increased the information in the category_tags.

In Germany, the advanced demographics from Nexiga vintage was updated to 2021.

In the Netherlands, the advanced demographics from 4orange vintage was updated to 2021.

In Thailand, the advanced demographics from Esri Thailand vintage was updated to 2021.
United States
Updates for the United States include crime indexes and traffic count data.
- Crime Indexes: Crime Indexes provide a view of the relative risk of specific crime types. It is not a database of actual crimes, but rather the relative risk in an area compared to the United States in its entirety. The database includes indexes for several categories of personal and property crime. The Crime data comes from the 2021B release from Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS).
- Traffic Counts: The Traffic Counts data from Kalibrate tracks peak and low traffic volume by the number of vehicles that cross a certain street location. The Traffic Counts data comes from the Q1 2022 release from Kalibrate.
ArcGIS Places
The following updates were made to ArcGIS Places:
Canada
This release includes ArcGIS Places for Canada.
Mexico
This is the first release of ArcGIS Places for Mexico from 2021 data sourced from the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE).
Puerto Rico
This is the first release of ArcGIS Places sourced from SafeGraph for Puerto Rico (January 2022).
Thailand
Thailand: This release includes an update to annual ArcGIS Places sourced from Esri Thailand and NOSTRA.
