Detailed information about what has changed for Esri Demographics and ArcGIS Places data for the March 2022 release is provided below.
The March release includes updates to Standard Demographics in 45 countries and regions in Africa and Europe, Advanced Demographics in Asia and Europe, new ArcGIS Places datasets in Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico and updates to ArcGIS Places in the U.S. and Canada.
Standard Demographics
The following countries were updated with new Standard Demographics (vintage updated from 2019 to 2021) from Michael Bauer Research GmbH:
Africa
The following countries were updated with new Standard Demographics (vintage updated from 2019 to 2021) from Michael Bauer Research GmbH:

Advanced Demographics
The following updates were made to Advanced Demographics:
Germany
In Germany, the Advanced Demographics from Nexiga vintage was updated to 2021.
Netherlands
In the Netherlands, the Advanced Demographics from 4orange vintage was updated to 2021.
Thailand
In Thailand, the Advanced Demographics from Esri Thailand vintage was updated to 2021.
United States
Updates for the United States include crime indexes and traffic count data.
- Crime Indexes: Crime Indexes provide a view of the relative risk of specific crime types. It is not a database of actual crimes, but rather the relative risk in an area compared to the United States in its entirety. The database includes indexes for several categories of personal and property crime. The Crime data comes from the 2021B release from Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS).
- Traffic Counts: The Traffic Counts data from Kalibrate tracks peak and low traffic volume by the number of vehicles that cross a certain street location. The Traffic Counts data comes from the Q1 2022 release from Kalibrate.
ArcGIS Places
The following updates were made to ArcGIS Places:
Canada
This release includes ArcGIS Places for Canada.
Mexico
This is the first release of ArcGIS Places for Mexico from 2021 data sourced from the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE).
Puerto Rico
This is the first release of ArcGIS Places sourced from SafeGraph for Puerto Rico (January 2022).
Thailand
Thailand: This release includes an update to annual ArcGIS Places sourced from Esri Thailand and NOSTRA.
