Spending Per Mill—The total amount spent in this region on the product or service category divided by the total regional population and multiplied by 1,000. Spending Per Capita—The total amount spent in this region on the product or service category divided by the total regional population. Consumer Spending Index—A measure that compares regional spending on the product or service category to national spending. The national index value is 100.
