In ArcGIS Community Analyst, you can generate a PDF representation of the current map or save the current map as an image.
Create a PDF
To create a PDF, perform the following steps:
- In the Maps tab, click Share results and select PDF or image.
Tip:
You can also open this workflow by clicking the Create PDF or image button in the map tools.
The Create PDF or image window appears with the PDF tab open by default. A preview of the PDF appears on the right.
- Complete the following options:
- Edit the title in the Title text box. Custom map is the default title.
- Optionally, enter a subtitle in the Subtitle text box.
- Select either Landscape or Portrait orientation.
- By default, a legend is displayed in the PDF. To disable the legend, uncheck the Show legend check box. If you have multiple layers on your map, use the check boxes to turn the layers' legends on or off.
- Click Font to modify the font size, color, and style of the text in the legend.
- Hover over the map legend to drag and reposition it.
- Click the black arrows on either side of the preview map to modify the included map extent or pan the map to the desired extent.
- Click Create PDF.
A status appears in the map tools. When complete, the Report ready dialog box appears. You can click the link to open the PDF or access it in Previously run reports in the project pane.
Note:
The Report ready dialog box will not appear if it is disabled in Preferences > Reports > Dialogs, but the PDF will still be accessible from Previously run reports.
Save an image
To save an image, complete the following steps:
- In the Maps tab, click Share results and select PDF or image.
The Create PDF or image window appears with the PDF tab open by default.
- Click the Image tab.
A preview of the image appears on the right.
- Complete the following options:
- By default, a legend is displayed in the map image. To disable the legend, uncheck the Show legend check box. If you have multiple layers on your map, use the check boxes to turn the layers' legends on or off.
- Click Font to modify the font size, color, and style of the text in the legend.
- Hover over the map legend to drag and reposition it.
- Click Save as JPEG.
A status appears in the map tools. When complete, the image is saved to your computer.
