An infographic template is a predesigned file used to create infographics quickly without having to format them. Choose a template and run it for one or more sites to create infographics. You can use an existing infographic template as a model to build a template of your own.
You can set a template as the default infographic, build infographic templates, and share customized templates with other users. You can also add templates to your My templates tab and create a blank layout template.
Set the default infographic
The default infographic runs automatically when you click Infographics in a site's pop-up menu. It can be useful to set your most frequently used infographic as the default infographic. To set an infographic template as the default, do the following:
- Click Reports, and click Build reports. Click Build infographics.
The infographic builder appears.
- Hover over a template and click Options . Click Set as the default infographic.
The infographic template is set as the default and runs automatically from sites' pop-up menus. You can also change the default infographic in the app preferences.
Alternatively, when you run an infographic, do the following to set the default infographic:
- In the infographic player, expand the infographics drop-down list to view all available infographics.
- Find an infographic template in the list, click Options , and click Make default to set it as the default infographic.
Share an infographic template
When you share an infographic template with other users, they can run it for their sites. They are also able to save and modify it, allowing you to collaboratively create custom infographics. To share a template with other users in your organization or groups, do the following:
- Click Reports, and click Build reports. Click Build infographics.
The infographic builder appears.
- Click the My templates tab.
- Hover over a template in the Created by me section and click Share template .
The Share report template window appears.
- Check the check boxes to select the users you want to share the template with:
- Check the Entire organization check box to select all users in your organization.
- Check the My groups check box to select all users in all your groups.
- Check individual groups' check boxes to select users in those groups.
- Click Share.
The infographic template is shared with the users you selected and appears under their Shared templates tab. Users may need to click Refresh to see it. Users can run the shared infographic or modify it by opening and saving it to their My templates tab. If you shared a blank template, users see it under the Blank templates tab.
To share a template with users outside your organization, download it as a file and send it to them. They can then add it manually. See Add a template from a file.
Note:
Shared infographic templates require all supporting items to also be shared. For example, if custom data and layers used in your template are not shared, there will be missing or N/A values when others view the infographic.
Download a template as a file
To download an infographic template as a file, do the following:
- Click Reports, and click Build reports. Click Build infographics.
