Introduction to Gas Distribution Data Management

Gas Distribution Data Management can be used to map gas distribution assets, edit data, and view system maps in the field and office.

It turns ArcGIS into a system for gas distribution organizations to easily inventory their assets and keep information up to date. It provides simple to use interactive system maps and dashboards for office and field staff, and increases collaboration.

After deploying, organizations with no gas distribution data can immediately begin mapping their gas distribution systems using GPS or digitizing data with web or desktop software. Organizations with existing spatial gas distribution data can load it and begin using the apps.

2.0 (Nov 2024)	Gas Viewer has been updated to use ArcGIS Instant Apps instead of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. Gas Editor has been updated to use ArcGIS Web Editor instead of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. The Gas Mobile Viewer map has been replaced by the Gas Viewer map. Gas Asset Collector has been renamed to Gas Field Editor. Gas Dashboard has been updated to include new functionality: Additional pie charts display operating pressure and pipe grade for distribution, transmission, and gathering. Data can now be filtered by grade and operating pressure. The number of active customer meters and the total number of customer meters are now displayed. The Gas Data Manager ArcGIS Pro project was removed and replaced with configuration instructions to create your own Gas Data Manager project. Field and editing feature service views have been replaced with source feature services. All Gas Map Notes layers and apps have been removed from the solution. This capability is now available in the new Map Notes solution.
