Configure Gridded Reference Graphic

ArcGIS Online    |    |

Gridded Reference Graphic can be used to communicate discrete ground locations and coordinate real-world field or clearing operations.

In this topic, you'll learn how to configure the Gridded Reference Graphic solution to meet specific needs of your organization.

Tip:
As you configure the solution, record the configurations or alterations you make with each version in a change log. This information will be valuable if you upgrade to a new version and need to evaluate the effort required.

Configure the Gridded Reference Graphic Project

The Gridded Reference Graphic solution includes an ArcGIS Pro project you can use to explore the tools used to create a Gridded Reference Graphic product. When you are ready to configure the project, a series of tasks is included to help you set up the tools to create a Gridded Reference Graphic product.

  1. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Gridded Reference Graphic Project desktop application template.
  2. From the item page, click Download.
  3. Unzip the downloaded folder, and then from the unzipped folder, open the ArcGIS Pro project.
  4. If you do not see the Catalog pane, from the View tab, in the Windows group, click Catalog Pane.
  5. In the Catalog pane, expand the Tasks folder and then double-click the Gridded Reference Graphic task item.

Configure the ribbon

The Gridded Reference Graphic solution uses ArcGIS Pro Clearing Grids functionality. You must ensure the Clearing Grids tools are added to the ribbon to use the solution.

To ensure that the Clearing Grids tools are available, complete the steps to add and open Clearing Grids on the ArcGIS Pro ribbon.

Note:

These steps are also available in the Activate the Clearing Grids tab task which is contained in the Set up the Gridded Reference Graphic project task group.
