Get started as an administrator

With a subscription to ArcGIS Online, organizations can manage all of their geographic content in a secure, cloud-based Esri environment. ArcGIS Online administrators are responsible for configuring the website, inviting and managing members, and managing and monitoring resources.

Note:

Members of the organization can create and share maps, apps, and other content; explore data; and publish data as hosted web layers. To discover resources for organization members, see Get started as an organization member.

After the default administrator activates the subscription, the first set of tasks for administrators is to configure the website and invite or add members to the organization. As members start using the organization, you're ready to manage resources. For example, you can categorize items to facilitate browsing content, change ownership of a group, modify a member's profile, revoke access to licensed apps, or view reports that summarize activity within your organization.
