Configure an organization for Indoors

Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Maps extension.

ArcGIS Online organizations are provisioned for ArcGIS Indoors with the Indoors extensions. These extensions include ArcGIS Indoors Maps and, optionally, ArcGIS Indoors Spaces. ArcGIS Indoors Spaces is an add-on extension to ArcGIS Indoors Maps that enables workspace reservation functionality.

Note:

If you licensed Indoors using the older Indoors organization extension, it is supported until expiration.

Set up access for ArcGIS Pro

To set permissions for the members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro, complete the following steps:

  1. Assign the Professional Plus user type to the named users in your organization who need access to ArcGIS Pro.
  2. Grant these named users access to the following extensions:
    1. 3D Analyst
    2. Network Analyst
  3. Assign the Publisher role to these named users.

Members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro must connect to this ArcGIS Online organization before using the Indoors tools.

Invite and add members

ArcGIS Online allows you to manage members in your organization, as well as their roles and associated privileges.

Create users and assign roles and types

Users must have the Contributor user type or higher to access Indoor Space Planner.

When you create users, review the available user types for details about assigning roles and access.

The ArcGIS Indoors Maps organizational extension includes the Indoors User user type. The Indoors User user type provides access to the Indoor Viewer and Indoors mobile apps. If the ArcGIS organization includes an ArcGIS Indoors Spaces license, users that are assigned the Indoors User user type also have access to workspace reservation capabilities when they are configured using the Reservations layer and published from ArcGIS Pro 3.0 or later.

You can change the user type for multiple members of your ArcGIS organization at the same time. For example, you can change the user type for many users to Indoors User.

Note:

The Indoors User user type does not include access to the ArcGIS organization or apps other than Indoor Viewer and Indoors mobile.

Enable permissions

Space Planner requires users to sign in before use. To create or export a plan, you must have the the privileges associated with the default role of Publisher or higher.

If you are using Space Planner to manage indoor spaces and want to implement further control over who can merge plans, you can create a group of users or choose an existing group that will have permissions to merge updated plans. These permissions are set during the Space Planner app configuration process.
