Review usage analytics

Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Spaces extension.

An important part of being able to manage workspaces efficiently is understanding how often they are being used. Usage analytics in Indoor Space Planner can provide insights into how workspace reservations are being used for workspace areas by showing the peak usage for a particular day or time.

Usage analytics in Space Planner features three chart types to visualize the usage of an office hotel:

  • Daily Peaks—Usage by day of the week
  • Hourly Peaks—Usage by hour of the day
  • Peak Daily Utilization—Usage by day of the week (bookings that have been checked in to)

Daily Peaks displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings that occurred within a day. For example, for a workspace area that has 10 units, if 8 units are booked from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the peak usage for that day would be 8 bookings.

Hourly Peaks displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings that occurred by hour within a day. If eight units are booked during that day, but five units are booked from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the other three units are booked from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the hourly peak usage that was reached for that day was five bookings—the highest number of concurrent bookings that occurred in the same hour that day.

Peak Daily Utilization displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings within a day, as well as the number of bookings that have been checked in to by a user, to give a comparative analysis of reserved space and used space on a given day.

Note:

Usage analytics are only available for office hotel bookings.

Enable usage analytics

The Reservations layer is required to enable usage analytics. The Show Usage button will appear for every workspace area if the Space Planner web map contains the reservations layer.

Note:

If you are not the owner of the Reservations layer, the layer must be shared with you to be able to review usage analytics.
