An important part of being able to manage workspaces efficiently is understanding how often they are being used. Usage analytics in Indoor Space Planner can provide insights into how workspace reservations are being used for hotel areas by showing the peak usage for a particular day or time.
Usage analytics in Space Planner features three different chart types to visualize the usage of a hotel:
- Daily Peaks—Usage by day of the week
- Hourly Peaks—Usage by hour of the day
- Peak Daily Utilization—Usage by day of the week (bookings that have been checked into)
Daily Peaks displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings that occurred within a day. For example, for a hotel that has 10 units, if eight units are booked from 8am to 5pm then the peak usage that was reached for that day was 8.
Hourly Peaks displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings that occurred by hour within a day. If eight units are booked during that day, but five units are booked in the morning (8am - 12pm) and the other three units are booked in the afternoon (12pm to 4pm), then the peak usage that was reached for that day was 5—the maximum number of concurrent bookings that occurred during that day.
Peak Daily Utilization displays the maximum number of concurrent bookings within a day, as well as the number of bookings that have been checked into by a user, to give a comparative analysis of reserved space and used space on a given day.
Usage analytics are only available for hotel areas. Analytics are not available for other areas such as hot desks or meetings.
Enable usage analytics
The Reservations layer is required to enable usage analytics. The Show Usage button will appear for every hotel area if the Space Planner web map contains the reservations layer.
If you are not the owner of the Reservations layer, then the layer must be shared with you to be able to view usage analytics.
View usage analytics
Perform the following steps to review usage for a hotel in a plan:
- Open the list of hotels areas by clicking the Hotels button .
- Click any hotel you for which you want to view usage analytics.
- Click the Show Usage button to open the usage summary panel.
The default work schedule is set to Monday—Friday (8am—5pm). You can adjust which days are viewed in the chart, as well as the work start and end time by clicking the Work Schedule button in the Usage Summary panel.
