About interactive behaviors
Interactive behaviors allow report consumers to interact with the map and other report objects in different ways. Interactive behaviors can be configured on layers created from IBM Cognos data, feature service layers, dynamic map service layers, and clustered point layers. The following four types of interactive behaviors can be defined in Esri Maps for IBM Cognos:
- Update report objects—Update all related objects (charts, lists, data cross-tabs, and so on) for which the action was defined based on the underlying data values for a selected point or region. See Configure an interactive behavior to update report objects.
- Set prompt—Initiate a prompt for running a defined query on the report. See Configure an interactive behavior to set a prompt.
- Drill through—Run and display other reports containing related data associated with a selected point or region. See Configure an interactive behavior to drill through to other reports.
- Update map—Update a layer in the map for which the action was defined based on the underlying data values for a selected item on a list or cross-tab. For more information, see Configure an interactive behavior to update the map.
Note:
To include interactive behaviors in your map, you must properly configure queries in Report Studio. See the IBM Cognos Report Studio User Guide for more information.
