Use web analytics

ArcGIS Online    |

Dashboard authors can configure Google Analytics in their dashboards with a valid Measurement ID value. Once connected, Google Analytics will collect, process, and measure dashboards' traffic in view mode.

Note:

The Esri User Experience Improvement program must be enabled in your organization to use Google Analytics in your dashboards.

Connect to Google Analytics

To connect to Google Analytics, complete the following steps:

  1. On the action bar, click the Analytics button .
  2. Click the Google Analytics toggle button to enable it.
  3. Add a Measurement ID value and configure a consent message as needed.

The dashboard is now connected to Google Analytics.

Consent message

When the Google Analytics toggle button is on, a consent message can be enabled and configured. You can include an optional consent message to inform viewers about app tracking and give them a choice to opt in or out. In some areas, collection of web analytics may fall under regulatory requirements and users need to decide whether consent from viewers is required before collecting traffic from the dashboards. If a consent message is configured, it will display in the lower right corner when viewers load the dashboards for the first time.
