You can use rich text elements in a dashboard to provide additional context. Rich text is created using a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) HTML editor.
You can include anything from small amounts of fixed text to larger amounts of instructions, notes, contact information, or website links. The rich text element also supports the configuration of an optional data source, making it a data-driven element. Data source options include None for static text, Statistic for dynamic text generated from summarized values in a data source, and Feature for attributes pulled from individual features.
To give you the most control and flexibility over the display, you can also enter text directly into the HTML source.
The following image is an example of the rich text element:

Actions
In an interactive dashboard, feature-based rich text can be the source of an action. When the rich text element is a source of actions, it can, for example, trigger a map to pan or zoom, or filter another dashboard element.
You can also use rich text in interactive dashboards as the target of an action. This means that an action performed on another element, such as a selection on a list or a category selector, can control the data displayed on the rich text element. Static rich text does not support actions.
