Military Overlay can be used to create and share military overlays with standard military symbology.
In all military operations, shared understanding across units and echelons is critical. One way to establish a shared understanding is by utilizing a common language, or standard military symbology. Standard military symbology informs real-world mission planning and contributes to the generation of different courses of action.
Creating and sharing military plans allows decision makers to convey intention to units. Military overlays add geospatial context to the planning process and help decision makers compare different courses of action. Ultimately, comparing multiple friendly and enemy plans allows commanders to evaluate a variety of courses of action and select a plan that saves lives and ensures mission success.
The Military Overlay solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you add geospatial context to plans and establish shared understanding across units by sharing mapping products.
