Railroad Crossing Inventory can be used to develop a railroad crossing inventory and inform stakeholders.

Load data
If you already have started a railroad crossing inventory using another system you can load your existing data to speed up the inventory creation process.
Load railroad crossings from a shapefile or file geodatabase
To load railroad crossings from a shapefile or file geodatabase, complete the following steps:
- Create a .zip file of your shapefile or file geodatabase.
- Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the RailroadCrossings feature layer.
- From the item page, click Update Data.
- Follow the steps in the Update data wizard to load your data.

Extend editing template
Note:
This workflow is optional and doesn't need to be completed to work with the solution.The Railroad Crossing Inventory solution was designed using the Federal Railroad Administration's data specifications. For asset management and more extensive attribute storage, additional fields can be added to the template.
To extend the editing template, complete the following steps:
- Verify that you are signed in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Railroad Crossings layer.
- Click the Data tab.
- Add desired fields to the Railroad Crossings hosted feature layer.

- Click the Apps button in the header of the site and click Field Maps Designer.
- Click Railroad Crossing Field Map .
- Use the form designer to add to, modify, or update the data collection experience.
