The Code Enforcement Operations solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you review potential code violations, inspect code violations in the field, and monitor the resolution of code violations in a community.
In this topic, you will learn how to use the solution by assuming the role of a user and performing the following workflows.

You will start by assuming the role of a code enforcement officer responsible for verifying a potential code violation. You are asked to use Code Violation to visit a potential code violation in the field and verify the details.
- Download ArcGIS Field Maps to a mobile device, if necessary.
- On the mobile device, open the app, and then sign in to your ArcGIS organization.
- Tap the Code Violation map to open it.
- Tap the plus sign to open the ArcGIS Field Maps form.
- Complete the form, using the following table as a guide:
Parameter Value Violation ID Type a unique ID.
Full Address Type the property address, if applicable.
Location Type a description of the location (for example, front yard), if applicable.
Violation Type Choose a category.
Description Type a description.
Municipal Code Type the violation code number.
Visible Choose Yes or No.
Date Submitted Choose the appropriate date.
Name Type the contact's name.
Phone Type the contact's phone number.
Email Type the contact's email.
Violation Status Choose Open or Closed.
- Tap Submit or the check mark to submit the form.
Monitor code violation status
Now, you will assume the role of a planning or zoning administrator responsible for reviewing current open and closed violations. You are asked to use Code Violation Dashboard to monitor code violations.
- In a browser, sign in to your ArcGIS organization, and then browse to the Code Enforcement Operations solution.
- View the Code Violation Dashboard app.
The Code Violation Dashboard opens, showing all submitted code violations.
- Review the high-level metrics about code violations, such as blight, illegal signs, and overgrown yards.
- On the left, use filters to refine the results by violation type, status, or date.
- On the right, click a specific code violation to review the violation ID, location on the premises, and property address.
