Use Conservation Outreach

The Conservation Outreach solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you capture and manage wildlife conflicts and engage local communities.

In this topic, you will learn how to use the solution by assuming the role of a user and performing the following workflows.

Collect wildlife conflict incidents

You will start by assuming the role of a mobile worker in a protected area collecting wildlife conflict incidents. You have been asked to use the Wildlife Conflict Reporter survey to collect wildlife conflict incidents.

  1. On a mobile device, in ArcGIS Survey123, open the Wildlife Conflict Reporter form.
  2. Tap Collect.
  3. Complete the survey with as much information as possible.
    Note:

    Required information is marked with a red asterisk.

  4. Tap Submit, and then tap Send now.

Manage wildlife conflicts

Next, you will assume the role of a community outreach staff member. You will review wildlife conflict incidents by completing the following steps:

  1. In a browser, sign in to your ArcGIS organization, and then browse to the Conservation Outreach solution.
  2. View the Wildlife Conflict Manager app.

    Wildlife incident reports are listed in the table at the top. The table can be sorted and filtered in various ways.

  3. In the table column headers, use the filters and arrows to filter results.
  4. Select a wildlife conflict incident from the table.

    The report details open at the bottom left.

  5. In the report details, click the Edit Record button Edit.
  6. Make any necessary updates to the report, and then click Save.

Monitor wildlife conflict programs

Now, you will assume the role of a protected area manager. You will monitor the status of wildlife conflict incidents within and around a protected area.

  1. In a browser, sign in to your ArcGIS organization, and then browse to the Conservation Outreach solution.
  2. View the Wildlife Conflict Dashboard app.
  3. On the left, adjust the filters to refine the results.
  4. On the right, select a wildlife conflict incident from the list.

    The map zooms to the incident, and a pop-up with incident details appears.

  5. Review the incident details.
