Holds allow you to place a job on hold for an indefinite amount of time due to insufficient funding, technical problems, missing data, lack of resources, and so on. Holds prevent a job's steps from being run while the hold is active.
Show holds
Complete these steps to show job holds:
- Access the Workflow Manager web app.
 - Choose the job for which you want to show holds on the Manage or Work page.
 - Expand the Details panel if necessary.
 - Click  the Holds tab

If you don’t have sufficient privileges, the Holds tab is not available.
The job's hold information appears in the Details panel.
 
Add a hold
Complete these steps to add a hold:
- Access the Workflow Manager web app.
 - Choose the job that you want to place on hold on the Manage or Work page.
 - Expand the Details panel if necessary.
 - Click  the Holds tab

 - In the Holds section, click  the Add hold to current step button

 is not available.A confirmation message appears and the job is placed on hold.
 
Release a hold
Complete these steps to release a hold:
- Access the Workflow Manager web app.
 - Choose the job that contains the hold you want to release  on the Manage or Work page.
Tip:
You can also release a hold for a job that is set to run on a schedule and manually run the step before the scheduled run date.
 - Expand the Details panel if necessary.
 - Click  the Holds tab

 - In the Holds section, hover over the step that contains the hold and click  the Release Hold button

 is not available.The Release dialog box appears.
Tip:
Provide a keyword in the Search Holds text box to filter the list. To switch between active holds, released holds, and dependencies, click Active Holds or Released Holds.
 - Click Release to release the hold.
A confirmation message appears and the hold is removed from the job.
Note:
Releasing a hold for a step that is configured to automatically run on a schedule requires the step to be started manually.
