    Note:

The .arsx file is stored at the top level of the project folder.

The first time you save an untitled project, the Save Project As dialog box appears. Browse to a folder, type a name for the project, and click Save.

To save an open project, do any of the following:

  • On the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the application, click Save Project Save Project.
  • Press Ctrl+S.
  • On the Project tab, click Save Project.

All of the actions above save the project on disk in the specified location, and a project directory with the specified name is created, which stores the settings, processing outputs, and other project information.

Export a project

You can export a project any time after it is created.

The export project functionality creates a folder containing a geodatabase with relevant data for alignments, reconstructions, and datasets. It also includes a layer file that stores the layer symbology and a similar structure to your project tree.

To export a project, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Project tab.
  2. Click Export Project.
  3. In the Give your exported project a name text box, name the project.
