Manage projects

Reality Studio 2023.1    |

A project must be created before you can begin working in ArcGIS Reality Studio.

When you open ArcGIS Reality Studio a blank, untitled project is automatically available. You can use this project or create your own.

You can navigate the globe, add data, and perform quality assurance before saving the untitled project. The following sections describe how to create a project, save a project, and open an existing project.

Create a project

To create a project, complete the following steps:

  1. Start ArcGIS Reality Studio.
  2. Close the start window.
  3. On the Project tab, click New.
  4. Type a name for the project in the Give Your Project a Name text box.
  5. Click Browse and browse to the location where you want to save the project in, or accept the default project location.

To edit the default project location, click Options > General > Create projects > Project location.

  6. Click Next.

The project is created, opened, and saved in the specified location.

Save a project

You can manually save a project at any time. Some tasks automatically save a project, such as when you create an alignment or a reconstruction.

Note:

The first time you save an untitled project, the Save Project As dialog box appears. Browse to a folder, type a name for the project, and click Save.

To save an open project, do any of the following:

  • On the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the application, click Save Project Save.
  • Press Ctrl+S.
  • On the Project tab, click Save Project.

All of the actions above save the project on disk in the specified location, and a project directory with the specified name is created, which stores the settings, processing outputs, and other project information.
