You can set language preferences for the ArcGIS Reality Studio application and help system.
To open the Language options, follow these steps:
- From an open project, click the Project tab on the ribbon.
- In the list of side tabs, click Options.
- On the Options dialog box, under Application, click Language.
Display language (requires language pack installation)
You can run a translated version of ArcGIS Reality Studio if you install a language pack. You can get a language pack from your distributor or My Esri. When a language pack is installed, you can set ArcGIS Reality Studio to display the user interface in the corresponding language.
By default, the ArcGIS Reality Studio user interface matches the Microsoft Windows display language. For example, if your Windows display language is German, and you have also installed a German language pack for ArcGIS Reality Studio, the application displays the user interface in German.
To run ArcGIS Reality Studio in a display language other than the Windows display language, follow these steps:
- Under Display language (requires ArcGIS language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box.
- Use the drop-down menu to choose a language from the list of installed languages.
- Restart ArcGIS Reality Studio.
This option only changes the display language of the ArcGIS Reality Studio user interface. It does not affect functionality related to number and date formatting or character encoding, which are controlled by your Windows region settings. In addition, this setting is for ArcGIS Reality Studio only and does not affect other ArcGIS Desktop applications on the same machine.
To return ArcGIS Reality Studio to the Windows display language, check the Match Microsoft Windows check box.
Proofing language
The list of available languages corresponds to the list of language packs for Windows installed on your computer. Use the language settings in Windows to add languages and download operating system language packs. After a new language pack is installed, the language will be available as a proofing language in ArcGIS Reality Studio.
As with the display language, the proofing language matches Windows by default. To change it, under Proofing language (requires operating system language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box and choose from the available languages. It is not necessary to restart ArcGIS Reality Studio.
Online help system language
The ArcGIS Reality Studio online help language matches the display language by default but can be changed. Language packs are not needed to change this setting. To select a different language, under Online help system language, uncheck the Match display language check box and choose from the available languages. It is not necessary to restart ArcGIS Reality Studio.
Tip:
When you're using the online help system, you can also change the language with the language switcher at the top of your browser.
Offline help system language (requires local help installation)
You can use a translated version of the ArcGIS Reality Studio offline help system if you install a local help system. You can obtain a local help system from your distributor or My Esri. The local help system is installed separately from the language pack.
Note:
ArcGIS Reality Studio uses the online help system by default. After installing the offline help system, you must change the help source.
By default, the offline help system matches the display language of the operating system. For example, if the display language of your operating system is French, and you have installed a French help system, the offline help opens in French. If you have not installed a help system that matches your operating system display language, the offline help opens in English.
To select a different language, under Offline help system language, uncheck the Match display language check box and choose from the available languages. It is not necessary to restart ArcGIS Reality Studio.
Note:
You can also change the language used for the offline help by clicking the Language button at the top of the help viewer. After choosing a different language, the help viewer must be restarted.
