The ArcGIS agent inside Microsoft Copilot enables your search for private ArcGIS content. There are two ways to search for private ArcGIS content with ArcGIS for Teams.
Search with the Microsoft Copilot ArcGIS agent
When you install ArcGIS for Teams in Microsoft Teams, an ArcGIS agent is added to Microsoft Teams Copilot.
To access Copilot in Microsoft Teams, click the View more apps button or the Apps button. Because you have previously installed ArcGIS for Teams, Copilot recognizes the ArcGIS repository.
Note:
This agent is inactive by default.
Copilot uses natural language processing (NLP), which trains the AI feature. The more frequently you interact with the Copilot ArcGIS agent, the more refined and accurate your search results will be. If you are signed in to ArcGIS for Teams with an ArcGIS Enterprise URL, you can access more ArcGIS content in an enterprise organization.
Search using a Teams chat
Click search in the ArcGIS for Teams agent in a Microsoft Teams chat to search for public and private content. The ArcGIS for Teams search window opens maps, apps, and other ArcGIS content on the Microsoft Teams Viewer tab.
When you sign in to your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account, you can specify the type of content you want to search for and the search location—for example, private or public. You can also refine the search to find the exact content you want. The ArcGIS for Teams agent helps you to refine your ArcGIS content search with every new interactive query.

Using the ArcGIS agent in Microsoft Copilot, powered by artificial intelligence, you can access a vast repository of maps and location data with ArcGIS for Teams in Microsoft Teams. When searching for ArcGIS content, the ArcGIS agent in Copilot returns the first five results.
Click the individual ArcGIS item from the results to open it in Microsoft Teams on the Viewer tab.

Conversational search with AI
With the introduction of generative AI, you can now use more natural language-based prompts to search ArcGIS items. When in a Microsoft Teams chat, you can provide prompts for searching ArcGIS content. Sign in to ArcGIS from the Options tab, return to the Chat tab, and begin typing questions.
Prompt suggestions using any category from Search or Help help you find specific ArcGIS content.
