Configure an organization for ArcGIS IPS on ArcGIS Online

ArcGIS Online organizations that are provisioned for ArcGIS IPS have the ArcGIS IPS license and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate in place. You need to set permissions for members of your organization and enable functionality in ArcGIS Pro once the organization is provisioned. Once you set permission levels for members of your organization, they can access indoor positioning tools in ArcGIS Pro after they connect and sign in to your ArcGIS organization.

Set up access to ArcGIS Pro

Perform the following steps to set permissions for the members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro:

  1. Assign the GIS Professional Standard user type (or higher) to the named users in your organization who you want to have access to ArcGIS Pro.
  2. Assign these named users the Publisher role (or higher) and the ArcGIS IPS user type extension.

Members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro must connect to this ArcGIS Online organization before using the indoor positioning tools.

Set up access to ArcGIS IPS Setup

Users of the IPS Setup app must sign in before use and have the appropriate level of permissions. Members of your organization who will perform surveys using the IPS Setup app must be assigned the Editor role (or higher) and the ArcGIS IPS user type extension. Members who will only test the indoor positioning system in the IPS Setup app must be assigned the Viewer role (or higher) and do not require the ArcGIS IPS user type extension.
