Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the ArcGIS IPS extension.
Setting up an ArcGIS Online organization for indoor positioning requires a corresponding ArcGIS IPS license. Next, organization members’ privileges must be set for those members who need to perform certain activities such as data editing in ArcGIS Pro or onsite activities supported by the ArcGIS IPS Setup app.
Set up access to indoor positioning tools in ArcGIS Pro
You can use the indoor positioning tools in ArcGIS Pro to prepare data for ArcGIS IPS. To enable access, complete the steps in ArcGIS Pro.
Set up access to tools in the IPS Setup app
Organization members responsible for beacon deployment and signal surveys using the IPS Setup app must be assigned a role with editing capabilities and the ArcGIS IPS user type extension. Members who will only test the indoor positioning system with the IPS Setup app require a role that allows viewing capabilities and do not require the ArcGIS IPS user type extension.
After setting the appropriate permission levels and once connected to and signed into the ArcGIS organization, members can access the Indoor Positioning toolbox in ArcGIS Pro, as well as visualize their indoor maps and complete the indoor positioning enablement workflows with the IPS Setup app. Before completing the enablement workflows, refer to the Bluetooth-based requirements or Wi-Fi-based requirements. For the enablement workflows, refer to Bluetooth-based indoor positioning or Wi-Fi-based indoor positioning.
