ArcGIS IPS consumption in apps

Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the ArcGIS IPS extension.

You can integrate ArcGIS IPS in Esri apps or custom-built mobile apps.

Esri apps

Indoor positioning can be used across ArcGIS and is supported in ArcGIS Indoors and ArcGIS Field Maps.

ArcGIS Indoors mobile requires a dedicated map file called a mobile map package (.mmpk). Indoor positioning data can be packaged in a mobile map package and shared with others for use in mobile apps. Mobile map packages containing indoor positioning data provide a live location for the users of Indoors mobile.

Note:

Indoor positioning system (IPS)-awareness is currently incompatible with Field Maps and the Indoors mobile apps. It will be supported at a later versions of these mobile apps.

If you are using Field Maps or Indoors, use the Classic toolset with the data stored in the IPS_Positioning table in the mobile map package.

Custom apps

The indoor positioning engine is a part of the Maps SDKs for native apps. This enables custom mobile apps developed in Kotlin and Swift running on Maps SDKs (version 200.3 and later) to seamlessly incorporate IPS-aware maps and provide real-time indoor positioning when the facilities are equipped with an IPS.
