ArcGIS Velocity uses feeds to ingest real-time data. Feeds are a type of stream layer that can be added to a web map or web application to immediately visualize the data that is being ingested. You can configure real-time analytics to consume a feed to further process or analyze the data ingested by the feed.
What is real-time data?
Real-time data is data that is emitted or observed by sensors or other feeds and made immediately available following collection.
Examples of real-time data
- Fleet of vehicles equipped with telematic or GPS devices that report information such as location (latitude/longitude) and attributes such as speed, bearing, driver name, and more.
- Stationary sensors such as environmental air quality sensors that send updated readings every 15 seconds.
