Locking geographies to a district

Locking prevents a selected geography from being assigned to a district other than the district to which it is locked.

1. Click the desired locking option:
   • Lock Geography prevents the selected geography from being assigned to a district other than the district to which it is already assigned.
   • Unlock Geography enables the geography to be assigned to districts.
2. Click the geography on the map that you want to lock or unlock.

   Based on the Lock Geography or Unlock Geography tool used, the selected geography is locked or unlocked. On the map, you can see that a locked geography is symbolized with a crosshatched pattern.
