Introduction to Immunization Outreach

Immunization Outreach can be used to inventory vaccine providers, communicate vaccination coverage, and promote available resources.

Vaccine hesitancy is a state of indecision and uncertainty that precedes a decision to become (or not become) vaccinated, even when vaccination services are available. Hesitancy has existed since vaccines were first developed and it directly impacts vaccination rates. Unfortunately, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has increased vaccine hesitancy and continued decreases in vaccination rates will increase the prevalence of preventable deaths and reappearance of previously eradicated diseases.

Understanding where immunization rates may be low helps local governments optimize public education campaigns and resource allocations. Showcasing where resources are available in the community helps those looking to be vaccinated find the providers they need.

The Immunization Outreach solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you inventory vaccine providers, communicate vaccination coverage, and promote available resources.
