Use Network Path Planner

The Network Path Planner project can be used to plan fronthaul routes to wireless equipment such as 5G sites, backhaul routes from wireless towers, and plan routes to residential neighborhoods or business locations.

Identify Optimal Network Paths

You will start by assuming the role of a network planner or wireless provider responsible for generating a proposed route for a series of 5G sites. You are asked to use the Network Path Planner project to identify the optimal network path for your organization.

  1. From the Network Path Planner solution, click the Network Path Planner item under Solution Contents to open the item details of the desktop application template.
  2. Click Download and place the contents on your computer.
  3. Using File Explorer, browse to the NetworkPathPlanner.zip folder and extract it.
  4. Open the Network Path Planner ArcGIS Pro project.
  5. On the View tab, in the Windows group, click Catalog, and click Catalog Pane.
  6. In the Catalog pane, expand Maps and review the maps provided.
    Note:

    The map provided in this project is provided with sample dataset to exercise the tools.

  7. In the Catalog pane, expand the Tasks folder, and double-click the Network Path Planner task.
  8. In the Tasks pane, click the How to Use Network Path Planner task group to expand the collection of tasks.
  9. Follow the steps in each task.
