Work with plan scenarios

You can create scenarios based on existing scenarios and edit them. You can switch between scenarios to compare capacity metrics, building space use, and zoning or land use area.

By default, a plan has two scenarios: the existing conditions and the new (future) conditions.

Create a scenario

To create a scenario while editing a plan, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the plan you want to edit and click the Open button on the Plan detail card.
  2. Click the Configure scenarios button More button in the center of the header.

    The Scenarios dialog box appears.

  3. Click Add Scenario.
  4. Provide a name for the new scenario and choose the scenario on which the new scenario will be based.
  5. Click Ok.

The new scenario appears in the Scenarios dialog box.

  6. Optionally, click the new scenario and add a description, configure a design visualization or a design context web scene, or configure the modal split.
  7. Click Ok.

    Note:

See Publish and share plans to learn how to make your scenarios visible to the public in the overview.

Lock a scenario

As the owner of a scenario, you can lock it. This prohibits other users from editing or deleting your scenario with the exception of the plan owner who has the permission to delete an entire plan (and the scenarios in it).To lock a scenario, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the plan you want to edit and click the Open button on the Plan detail card.
  2. Click the Configure scenarios button More button in the center of the header.

    The Scenarios dialog box appears.

  3. Find the scenario you want to lock and click the lock button at the right of the scenario name.
