Release notes for ArcGIS GeoBIM November 2023

The updates below have been made in ArcGIS GeoBIM.

General

The general product update for this release is ArcGIS GeoBIM now has a ArcGIS Field Maps integration feature that allows you to integrate ArcGIS GeoBIM with ArcGIS Field Maps for field operations.

Enhancements and bug fixes

The following enhancements and bug fixes were made:

  • The Fullscreen map tool is no longer available in the App Editor. The Fullscreen tool still works in existing ArcGIS GeoBIM apps but the tool cannot be turned off.
  • The Autodesk Forge Viewer has been updated to version 7.93.1.

Known issues

The following are the known issues in this release:

  • If a web scene has dynamic living atlas layers, the ArcGIS GeoBIM app has issues using that web scene. To workaround this, do not add the living atlas layers into a scene before using it in an ArcGIS GeoBIM app. You can add the living atlas layers to the web scene after adding the scene to the ArcGIS GeoBIM app.
  • Due dates of Issues uploaded from ArcGIS GeoBIM to Autodesk are different in Autodesk BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud until you run the Locate Issues tool on the Tools page.
  • Every time you add a new Type or Subtype into your issues in your Autodesk BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud projects, you need to enable ArcGIS Field Maps again for your map in ArcGIS GeoBIM. This step is required to capture the latest changes and keep the Autodesk Type domain list synchronized.
  • When you click View BIM Model to view a model from Autodesk BIM 360 in the ArcGIS Field Maps app in an Android device, it opens the model in the browser instead of the Autodesk BIM 360 Android app.
  • ArcGIS Field Maps integration in ArcGIS GeoBIM is only supported for working with a single Autodesk BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud project. If you have multiple projects added in your ArcGIS GeoBIM project, only the issue types (including the custom types) from the first project is loaded. All issue types from the other projects are ignored.
  • If your ArcGIS Field Maps issues are uploaded through the ArcGIS GeoBIM app while you are in the field, the new issues might disappear in the ArcGIS Field Maps app. If you want to see the latest updates on your layers, restart your ArcGIS Field Maps app on your device.
  • Some of the Scene thumbnails are not displayed correctly on the Add data page (Links and App Editor). To workaround this, update the scene thumbnail on Scene Viewer.
  • When you have any new ArcGIS Field Maps issues active in your ArcGIS GeoBIM app the Company chart on the Issues charts does not work correctly. After selecting a chart wedge in the Company chart, it does not successfully filter issues to that selection and sometimes selects a different field in the Company chart. To workaround this, upload your new ArcGIS Field Maps issues to the Autodesk BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud and the Company chart selections work correctly.
