Esri provides North American regional datasets. These include the following:
- All listed countries or regions except Canada and the United States—Esri provides North American regional standard demographics datasets sourced from data supplied by Michael Bauer Research GmbH; this data is updated every two years. Standard demographics provide a broad picture of a data category, such as population counts, household size, educational attainment, and other demographic statistics.
- Mexico and Puerto Rico—Esri provides standard demographics datasets sourced from data supplied by Michael Bauer Research GmbH, advanced demographics datasets, and ArcGIS Places datasets for Mexico and Puerto Rico only. These are updated at various intervals. Advanced demographics offer additional attributes and more detailed levels of geography. Visit individual country pages to see the variable lists, sample reports, and provider methodology statements.
- The Mexican advanced demographics dataset is sourced from data supplied by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI); the ArcGIS Places dataset is sourced from data supplied by the National Statistical Directory of Economic Units (DENUE).
- The Puerto Rican advanced demographics datasets are sourced from data supplied by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS); the ArcGIS Places dataset is sourced from data supplied by SafeGraph.
- Canada and the United States—Esri provides North American regional advanced demographics datasets and ArcGIS Places datasets only for Canada and the United States. These are updated at various intervals. Advanced demographics offer additional attributes and more detailed levels of geography. - The Canadian advanced demographics datasets are sourced from data supplied by Environics Analytics; the ArcGIS Places datasets are sourced from data supplied by Data Axle and SafeGraph.
- The American advanced demographics datasets are sourced from data supplied by Esri, the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Census American Community Survey, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, MRI-Simmons, Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS), and Kalibrate; the ArcGIS Places datasets are sourced from data supplied by Data Axle and SafeGraph.
