Available in real-time analytic.
The Delay and Reorder Tracks tool is used to delay and sort features by timestamp before writing them to output datasets. This tool sorts features within a defined time window by track ID timestamp.
Examples
The following are example use cases for the tool:
- Some applications may require hiding feature locations in real-time due to privacy and security concerns. The Delay and Reorder Tracks tool can delay the display of real-time locations.
- Vendors and sensor APIs often provide track-based data out of sequence. The Delay and Reorder Tracks tool can reorder this data by timestamp within a defined time window.
- Vendors and sensor APIs provide feature data in batches. The Delay and Reorder Tracks tool can delay processing until a complete batch is received and then reorder the events by timestamp.
Usage note
Keep the following in mind when working with the tool:
The tool only processes events with a unique track ID. The Track ID key field must be identified in the input dataset to use this tool.
Parameters
The following are the parameters for the tool:
Parameter | Description | Data type |
---|---|---|
Max features within time window | The maximum number of features to evaluate for filtering within a time window. The default is 60. | Integer |
Time window to delay and reorder tracks | The time span during which each track observation is evaluated for filtering. The default is 30 seconds. | String |
Considerations and limitations
Consider the following when working with the tool:
The tool discards track observations that exceed the Maximum features within the time window value for the defined interval. These events are not cached or queued. If maintaining all track observations is important, consider branching the analytic to store the same data as features in a feature layer or cloud storage output.
