Process and track a reconstruction

Reality Studio 2023.1    |

Once you create a reconstruction, you can process it.

Process a reconstruction

To process a reconstruction, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Project Tree pane, select the reconstruction to process.
  2. On the Reconstruction tab, click Run.

The reconstruction widget appears in the Process Manager pane.

Track the progress of a reconstruction

You can monitor the reconstruction progress in the Process Manager tool on the View tab.

Once a reconstruction is started, its processing widget is displayed in the Process Manager pane. Processing widgets display information about the progress of a certain process. The information can include the processing status, progress bar, elapsed time, and estimated time. The processing status can be queued, pending, processing, finished, or failed. You can expand a reconstruction widget to show information about individual steps. The basic processing steps of a reconstruction are the analysis, the dense cloud, and the spatial products to be generated. Products can include DSM, True Ortho, DSM Mesh, point cloud, and mesh.

You can monitor and manage reconstructions using the processing widget in the following ways:

  • Click Pause/Run to pause and resume the reconstruction.
  • Click Zoom To to navigate to the extent of the reconstruction.
  • Click Show on Map to show or hide the progress of the reconstruction in the Globe view. The progress displayed in the Globe view represents the progress of the current processing step (except the analysis step, which shows no progress in the Globe view). The dense cloud step shows progress using the footprints of each image, and the progress of the products is shown on a per-tile basis.

Note:

Once the reconstruction processing is complete, the globe-centric progress layers disappear and the Process Manager pane updates to show the generated products.

Pause and resume process

When the reconstruction is processing, you can pause it by doing any of the following:

  • On the Reconstruction tab, click Pause.
  • In the Process Manager pane, on the reconstruction widget, click Pause.
  • In the Project Tree pane, right-click the reconstruction, and on the contextual menu, click Pause.

When the reconstruction is paused, you can resume it by doing any of the following:

  • On the Reconstruction tab, click Run.
  • In the Process Manager pane, on the reconstruction widget, click Run.
  • In the Project Tree pane, right-click the reconstruction, and on the contextual menu, click Run.

View the results

To view the generated reconstruction products, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Project Tree pane, click the Visualization tab.
  2. In the Reconstruction section, click the check boxes of the products you want to view.

The generated products are shown in the Globe view.

Open the results folder

To open the folder containing the generated reconstruction products, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Project Tree pane, click the reconstruction.
  2. On the Reconstruction tab, click Open Results Folder.

The folder containing your generated reconstruction products opens in a File Explorer.

Your reconstruction results are divided in one folder per product type.
