Configure ArcGIS services and privileges
For some tools and capabilities to be used in Esri Maps for MicroStrategy, organizations must configure utility services in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. Utility services perform tasks such as printing, locating addresses, finding directions, and displaying geoenriched data through infographics. For more information, see Configure utility services.
The ability of individual users in your organization to access tools and capabilities that require utility services depends on the roles and privileges defined for your organization. A role defines the privileges that a member has within the organization. Esri defines a set of privileges for the user, publisher, and administrator roles. In addition, organizations can define privileges at a more detailed level by creating and assigning custom roles. For more information, see Organization roles.
The following table lists the privileges and services that must be configured to use specific tools and features in Esri Maps for MicroStrategy.
Note:
- Using features and tools that require utility services consumes ArcGIS service credits. For more information, see Service Credits Overview.
- If a custom service (for example, a geocoding or network analysis service) is used, it must also be added as a secure item in your portal. For more information, see Connect to secure services.
