Configuration of ArcGIS Online to support Insights

Insights in ArcGIS Online

Before you can access ArcGIS Insights in ArcGIS Online, you must have an ArcGIS Online organizational account. Administrator privileges are necessary to configure the ArcGIS Online organization.

Additional configurations are necessary to use all of the functionality in Insights. These configuration settings allow organization members to geocode data, use maps (and extents) suitable for their region, and more.

Configuration of utility services

Utility services are required for specific functionality in your ArcGIS Online organization, such as performing analysis that depends on utility services. Utility services are enabled in ArcGIS Online by default but can also be configured to meet the needs of your organization. The following table lists each utility service and the Insights feature it supports:

Batch geocoding

The geocoder in your organization must support batch geocoding to be used to enable location on multiple addresses. ArcGIS Geocoding service is available through your ArcGIS Online organizational account and can be used to perform batch geocoding. You can also configure a custom batch geocoder for your organization.
